Please read these instructions before signing-up to join this site.

 

  1. All applicant sites will be validated by a two stage process.

The first is automated, and ensures that your site does not appear on "Commission a Portrait until" the voting link (your will be provided with the code) has been activated.

If you do not install the voting link, your site will N E V E R appear on the list.

The second is a manual check that your site content is suitable (i.e. the subject matter is portrait art), and that your voting link is visible.

  1. Keep a note of your user name and password. The Administrator does not have access to these details, and cannot help if you loose them.
  1. Please take the effort to submit a banner. Sites with banners do far better than those without.
  1. Do not cheat by repeatedly clicking your own link. "Commission a Portrait" has automatic validation procedures to prevent this. Anyone caught cheating will be removed from the list.

The Administrator also has the ability to ban sites from the Root-top.com network. This option will be exercised if anyone is caught using an off-line voting code, or attempts to list a completely inappropriate website.

 

The benefits of joining this site.

 

"Commission a Portrait" membership is a form of link exchange, which just happens to provide and utilise a count of visitor traffic. Simply being listed will enhance your web site's PR. In addition, you can expect to get visitor traffic to your site; how much will depend on where you are in the list, and the appeal of your banner.

The voting code can be configured to any link style you wish, and does not need to be in the format provided. The bigger, and better placed it is, the more likely visitors are to vote for you, but it's your choice.
