Send me some images to look at, and a brief description of the the portrait you would like (size, media, any changes, etc.). If you have a deadline, be sure to let me know at the outset.
I will let you know my views: most suitable medium and size, compositional enhancements, etc. If I feel your photograph(s) will not allow me to produce good quality artwork, I will tell you, and I may suggest that you do not proceed with a commission.
Before starting work, I will ask you to pay a 10%, non-refundable*, good will deposit.
I will complete your portrait. Please Note: this may take several weeks, depending upon my work load, but I will keep you informed of my progress and planned completion date.
I will give you the opportunity to approve my work via on-line scans. If you decide to proceed with a purchase, only then will I request payment (* your 10% deposit will be offset if you proceed to purchase).
Once payment is received, your portrait will be mounted (UK only) and posted. You will be informed about dispatch of your portrait and the expected delivery date. I normally send items within the UK by Next Day Special Delivery, which includes full insurance cover.
If you are not happy once you have received the item, let me know within seven working days. I will refund your purchase price on safe return of the picture (less any fees incurred - e.g. PayPal transaction charges, banking charges, postage).
A durable copy of my detailed terms and conditions will be sent to all clients proceeding beyond step 2, in accordance with the UK Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
